The legacy database consists of observations from 2 sources.

The first source is from the collection of Dr. David (Paddy) Patterson.
This collection is based on observations that Dr. Patterson made on
microbes (mostly protists) from around the world. -
The second source is a collection of genomic observations, mostly 16s fragments,
from the scientific literature, NCBI and other databases, and
direct correspondence with researchers.
