MICROBIS is the database that supports the ICoMM initiative. MICROBIS contains data and meta-data from projects performed under the aegis of ICoMM. Microbis also supplies OBIS with any OBIS compliant data.

PEOPLE

People who have worked on the develop of MICROBIS are:

  • Phillip Neal - Designed, developed and programmed the original functional version of Microbis - September 2004 - present.
  • Dr. David Patterson - Developed the original schema (see 'design documents') - September 2004.
  • Sarah Bordenstein - Has researched and edited much of the legacy data.

SOFTWARE

MICROBIS is a LAMP/AJAX projet. That is, Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP, and lot's of client-side javascript are used in developing this site.

MICROBIS is based on MySQL and PHP. However, we are trying to implement an 'AJAX' type interface whenever possible to keep response time and html programming to a minimum.

Due to the use of 'AJAX' type functions, these pages are best viewed using the browsers FIREFOX for the PC or SAFARI for MAC OSX.

This site has been tested with Firefox on MAC OSX and Safari on MAC OSX and MSIE Version 7 Most of these pages are XHTML 1.0 (transitional) compliant.
